Shifting The Perspective
Us Vs Them?
The Western Ghats is home to around 40 million people. This fragile landscape faces increasing challenges, including rising human-wildlife conflicts. As human activities encroach further into natural habitats, the balance between humans and wildlife becomes strained. This invariably leads to more frequent and severe confrontations and depletion of important biodiversity.
Or All Of Us
As One?
Our goal is to conserve 10,000 acres in the Western Ghats by 2035. We will achieve this by:
-
Acquiring land for forest protection and conservation of important biodiversity.
-
Developing a playbook for symbiotic coexistence
-
Creating nature-based experiences
-
Establishing a marketplace for native forest products and services
This initiative will also provide sustainable livelihoods for native communities. We believe that conservation efforts should benefit future generations.
Coexistence Creates
Sensitivities
Coexistence fosters sensitivity, awareness, and knowledge. Inspired by nature's organisms, we create a unique approach to biodiversity and conservation by:
-
Conserving small land parcels in the Western Ghats
-
Building a community of professionals, creators, and learners
Our vision is a harmonious world where people and nature thrive together.
Join A Much-Needed
Paradigm
At Mycelium Ecology, we are protecting privately conserved landscapes in the Western Ghats, funded by ‘Conservation Collectives.’ These spaces create local jobs and foster sustainable coexistence.
We focus on preserving natural spaces and sharing knowledge for present and future generations. We aim to help people appreciate nature and shift away from a purely capitalistic mindset.

Creating A Balanced Ecosystem
Mycelium
Ecology
Mycelium Ecology is a community-driven initiative dedicated to conserving and restoring native biodiversity and other protected species in the Western Ghats. We create spaces for deep connections with nature, aiming to protect and enhance the planet's ecological wealth.

Spaces
Community-funded land parcels in the Western Ghats preserve native biodiversity. These areas minimize human intrusion, fostering harmonious coexistence through wildlife conservation and emphasizing the restoration and propagation of local species.

Outreach
Our programs connect young individuals with the environment, fostering responsibility for forest conservation. These initiatives engage the next generation in preservation efforts, promoting sustainability and illustrating the benefits of harmony with nature.

Research
We catalog endemic species and revitalize degraded areas in the Western Ghats. By training local communities in land conservation and advanced ecological knowledge, we enhance scientific understanding and interaction with these ecosystems.

Marketplace
The marketplace allows indigenous communities to sell their products to broader markets, emphasizing ethical consumption and economic benefits. It also uses technology to make conservation efforts more accessible, promoting an open-source approach to ecosystem conservation.
